Learning Through Play

"Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn." ~O. Fred Donaldson

Educational experiences for children at Eureka Kids are planned with the understanding that young children learn best through guided play and hands-on experiences. Each day, children will be able to actively engage in a variety of SMARTER educational experiences designed to foster development in language, cognitive, social-emotional and physical skills.

Teachers create a well-planned and play-based environment in the classroom that provides children with opportunities to:

  • Enhance communication skills with peers and adults
  • Make appropriate choices and become actively involved in their learning process
  • Develop creativity and a joy of learning
  • Develop self-esteem, self-reliance, self-regulation, responsibility and confidence
  • Practice independence, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Engage in appropriate interactions with children and adults
  • Exhibit concern for others and develop empathy skills
  • Build a sense of community by celebrating cultural values, family backgrounds and individual heritage
